Women constitute 47% of the U.S. workforce, and perform 24% of STEM-related jobs. The gender gaps are particularly high in some of the fastest-growing and highest-paid jobs like mathematics and engineering. In 2019, women accounted for 27% of workers in STEM, and on average, women in STEM made 19% less than men.

Bridging The Gap

Sókn Engineering is firmly committed to the advancement of women in STEM fields and will work to assure that the women’s STEM workforce is representative of the U.S. population. Sókn will actively be recruiting and hiring women programmers, engineers, and mathematicians.

STEM skills, and in particular, women in STEM, help to bridge the ethnic and gender gaps found in math and science fields.
